In a post or page simply add the shorcode with some of the parameters :

[da_gallery deviant=artgerm items=4]

And this will render this :

Ok… but, like me, you are not a great artist so you prefer to share your favourites instead :

[da_favourites deviant=aegypius items=4]

And this will render this :

And what about directly use SitBack Feature instead :

[da_gallery deviant=artgerm items=4 sitback=flash]

And …. tada !

So what’s next ?

I need to do some more code cleanup, css fixtures, controls options, and a admin panel to tweak default options.

For those who wants to try it out (while it’s still in early development stage — call it alpha) just download archive @github and install it manually in your wordpress wp-content/plugins/ directory

Please remember that feedback is always welcome but prefer using Issues system @github

Let’s get the sources, Google uses a tool called “repo” so you need first to get this tool.

mkdir ~/bin
cat >> ~/.bashrc
# set PATH so it includes user's private bin if it exists
if [ -d ~/bin ] ; then
  PATH=~/bin:"${PATH}"
fi

source ~/.bash_profile

This step allow you to have your own bin directory so you don’t mess your system with binaries that are not managed by emerge.

curl http://android.git.kernel.org/repo > ~/bin/repo
chmod a+x ~/bin/repo

Let’s try :

Now we will initialize android repository.

After a while you will be able to synchronize your repository

export ANDROID_JAVA_HOME=$JAVA_HOME
make

Now compile is running …

272 minutes later, compilation completed  (on my AMD Athlon XP 3200+) !

I own a HTC Magic 32B (Google branded) so the tests i will perform is intended to work on this specific platform.

As you know, it can be risky to modify your Android ROM with a custom one. You’re warn ! I am not responsible of possible deterioration of your terminal !

So, let’s begin !

Part 1 – The Prerequisites (for Gentoo)

Let’s start with dependencies installation,

emerge git gnupg
emerge "<dev-java/sun-jdk-1.6"
emerge flex bison gperf libsdl esound wxGTK
emerge zip unzip curl zlib readline

Android does not compile with JDK-1.6 so we have merged a JDK-1.5, let’s configure your system to use it.

eselect java-vm list
  [1]   sun-jdk-1.5
  [2]   sun-jdk-1.6  system-vm
eselect java-vm set user sun-jdk-1.5

or

eselect java-vm set user 1

Now you need to refresh your environment :

sudo env-update && source /etc/profile
